Rugby markets reflect points, margins and match conditions. A strong favourite can still fail to cover a handicap or win a particular market.
Common markets
Match winner, point handicap and total points are common. Outright markets cover a tournament or season rather than one match. Check whether a draw is a separate outcome and whether extra time counts.
Match context
- Confirmed squads, late changes and positional depth.
- Travel, altitude, weather and field conditions.
- Rest periods and tournament priorities.
- Set-piece performance, discipline and goal-kicking roles.
Handicap risk
A favourite can win the match but lose the handicap market. The final margin, not simply the winner, determines settlement. Whole and half-point lines can settle differently.
Do not overfit history
Previous meetings can involve different coaches, squads, venues and incentives. Treat historical results as context rather than a formula.
